The Position
We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher with scientific expertise in clinical research and translational models to join our Clinical Research department located in Saint-Vulbas, France. You will contribute to the assessment, optimization, and implementation of experimental infection models (challenge models) across multiple species to support innovation and scientific excellence.
This position is limited to 24 months. Target start: Q4 2026
Tasks & responsibilities
In your new role, you will:
Conduct a comprehensive review and assessment of existing challenge models
Perform gap analyses on current models, including expertise, strain availability, reproducibility, and operational risks
Define and/or redesign production and implementation processes for challenge models
Support the development and implementation of selected challenge models across multiple species
Collaborate with internal and external scientific experts to ensure alignment with regulatory and scientific expectations
Maintain accurate documentation of experimental procedures, data analysis, and project activities
Contribute to scientific discussions, presentations, and reporting activities
Have the opportunity to conduct pre-clinical studies for assessment of candidate veterinary medicinal product
Support the attending veterinarian in providing veterinary care
Requirements
PhD in veterinary sciences, microbiology, immunology, infectious diseases, clinical research, or related scientific disciplines
Doctorate in veterinary medicine (DVM)
Experience in in vivo models, translational research, or infectious disease research is a plus
Knowledge of challenge model development and implementation is highly desirable
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a cross-functional and international environment
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Fluency in English, French is a plus
