Sewer & Water Workers – Civil Construction Penn-co Construction is a leading construction company currently looking for hardworking and dependable Civil workers to join our construction team. Job Duties Install water and sewer mains, services, structures, and related piping systems Align, position, connect, and install pipe, fittings, valves, and other components Prepare, cut, and install PVC and other piping as required Assist with pipe fusing and preparation for fused connections Read grades and assist with maintaining proper pipe alignment and elevation Clean and prepare job sites and work areas Handle and transport pipe, fittings, tools, and construction materials Perform basic equipment operation as required Operate hand and power tools Assist equipment operators and other crew members during excavation and installation activities All other labour duties as required and assigned by supervisor Requirements Previous construction experience in sewer, water, civil, or underground utility construction Knowledge and understanding of underground utility installation practices Experience installing sewer and water pipe and structures is considered an asset Pipe fusing certification and/or experience is considered an asset Positive attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to identify and use the correct tools and equipment for the job Strong understanding of safe work practices, particularly around excavations and heavy equipment Physically capable of performing strenuous work, including safely lifting and carrying materials weighing more than 50 lbs. A basic understanding of drawings Must be willing and able to travel to remote project locations as required Working Conditions Outdoor conditions that may include heat, dust, cold, rain, and noise Physically strenuous work Working at heights Rotational schedules may include: 10 days on, 4 days off 15 days on, 6 days off 21 days on, 7 days off Penn-co has been in business for 65 years Check out website www.penn-co.com to see some of the exciting projects that we have completed and are currently working on Empowering today for a better tomorrow.
