Department Overview The SIG-Data service of Brest Métropole and the Pays de Brest collects, produces, updates, and structures large volumes of territorial data (urban planning, networks, environment, etc.) to support detailed territorial knowledge. It conducts spatial analyses and produces thematic maps to inform decision-making. The service develops and administers internal and external platforms (e.g., GéoPaysdeBrest), providing interactive maps, downloadable data, and applications for staff, partners (municipalities, institutions), and the public. It serves as a key tool for public policy support and decision-making across departments (urban development, environment, mobility, etc.), facilitating territorial analysis and project planning. As the GIS hub for the Pays de Brest, it coordinates data and usage consistency across the metropolitan area, its municipalities, and regional partners. It also provides technical support and training to users and promotes best practices in geographic data usage. The SIG-Data team consists of 10 members: 1 team leader, 5 engineers, and 4 technicians, supported by a network of 70 internal GIS correspondents and 6 GIS correspondents in Pays de Brest community councils.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain the GIS infrastructure and ensure data recovery, validation, and quality control from internal services and partners. Update reference datasets and associated documentation; conduct technology watch. Design and produce maps and infographics for departments lacking GIS tools. Deploy and maintain web-based geomatics applications; contribute to continuous improvement of the city base map. Maintain the GéoPaysdeBrest website, publish Open Data datasets, and perform spatial analysis, data formatting, and geographic information delivery for internal services. Provide technical support to external users and train end-users on deployed tools. Collaborate with the Data Usage Engineer to support the shared data strategy: prepare data for exploitation, develop data visualization tools, and participate in data-related working groups and committees. Profile Sought

Education:
Bac+2/3 in GIS, geomatics, or related field.

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of cartography, graphic semiotics, and visual design.
- Proficiency in major GIS tools (ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, ArcGIS Server, FME, Python).
- Competence in IT and database management.
- Bonus: Experience with infographics and image editing tools (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalents). Personal attributes:
