Calyxia is entering a phase of accelerated commercial expansion, with the CalyShield
platform gaining strong traction across adhesives, coatings, and electric/electronic compounds, we are ready to scale our presence globally. To achieve this growth, we seek a Product Manager who will act as a commercial engine for the CalyShield
platform, driving new customer acquisition, enabling our distributor network, and delivering repeatable, profitable revenue. This is a hands-on, high-energy commercial role suited to someone who thrives in entrepreneurial environments, enjoys building markets, and is motivated by clear targets and visible results.
Key responsibilities
Product ownership Define and research markets and applications, and create quantified value propositions. Conduct competitive analysis Define product strategy – including product specifications, formats and SKUs Work closely with RCD to create a dynamic 3-5 yr product roadmap Provide input for product promotion and new product launches. On-line and off
- line, present the product line at various fora, create brochures, technical documentation, ‘how to’ guides Monitor the product line’s financial performance, in revenue and margin; deliver accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts, highlighting risks and mitigation actions Customer acquisition and development Identify, approach, and convert new customers in adhesives, coatings, and related performance materials markets. Run acquisition campaigns Lead customers through the full evaluation cycle: sample → lab trial → pilot production → industrial field trial → qualification → first order → repeat business Translate technical performance into commercial value propositions, pricing logic and discipline Maintain a structured, well-qualified opportunity pipeline; including next steps and timelines Enable customer growth and expand share of wallet Distributor management Work closely with leading distributors (IMCD, Brenntag C Grolman) to drive adoption of CalyShield
Build joint business plans, run regular pipeline reviews, and support prioritization of high-potential accounts. Work with distributors to optimize end-customer pricing Provide product training, market insights, and coordinated field visits to accelerate distributor sales Cross-functional collaboration Be the product champion within Calyxia and communicate to the organization the product platform needs, requirements, and successes Partner with Application Engineering to ensure rapid, high-quality customer support, predominantly during lab
- and pilot evaluations and scale-up Work with RCD, manufacturing and purchasing to optimize product costs where necessary Work with Operations to coordinate product availability Experience 5+ years in commercial or technical-commercial roles within specialty chemicals, coatings, adhesives, resins, composites, or advanced materials Track record managing technical evaluations with customers and converting these into commercial wins Previous exposure to chemical distributors or channel sales is a strong plus Educational background in chemistry, materials to MSc degree Leadership style Highly pro-active, self-motivated and driven, comfortable owning targets and commitments Strong communicator who builds trust with customers, distributors, and internal teams Hands-on, organised, and able to manage multiple opportunities across regions and segments; through follow-up Confident in customer meetings, negotiations, and technical discussions (with support from specialists) Skills s capabilities Ability to navigate B2B technical sales processes, including sampling, trials, and qualification cycles Strong account management and pipeline discipline; comfortable with CRM tools (experience with Hubspot an advantage) Understands value-based selling and can support pricing decisions with performance evidence Strong collaboration skills across sales, technical, operations, and marketing Strong English required; German, Italian, French, or Spanish are valuable additions Clear communicator, able to represent Calyxia professionally with customers, distributors, and partners
