About The Role
Company: Randstad Deutschland Title: Developer (Python, QGIS etc.) (m/f/d) Note: Only candidates employed under social insurance (i.e., standard German employment contracts) may be submitted for this position. The service provider will deliver services to the unit "Data Management Infrastructure," supporting agile IT projects in the domain of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geospatial data management. Key project deliverables include the maintenance, further development, and integration of applications in this field. Project Overview The core task is to replace the legacy system UIS-KK (Environmental Information System for Railway Cadastral Data), which is based on the open-source GIS platform QGIS. Specific functional requirements will be implemented as a Python-based QGIS plugin. Data storage will be handled via a PostgreSQL/PostGIS database. The project follows the SCRUM methodology. Responsibilities Develop software applications according to client requirements Advise the client on the technical implementation of business requirements Conduct workshops to transfer knowledge on QGIS Participate (remotely or on-site) in project meetings and SCRUM events Coordinate technically with project managers, domain experts, and fellow developers to ensure timely and successful delivery Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to appropriate software development practices and the client’s standards Prepare delivery packages for the developed applications Mandatory Criteria (Must-Haves) Proven experience developing QGIS plugins using Python (PyQGIS/PyQt) — Senior level (>5 years) Experience in software projects for railway operating companies — Intermediate level (>3 years) Practical experience implementing railway-specific solutions using QGIS — Intermediate level (>3 years) In-depth knowledge of QGIS and its practical application — 5 references required Experience in training/knowledge transfer on QGIS — 1 reference required Desired Criteria (Nice-to-Haves) Experience conducting QGIS workshops — 1 reference required — Weighting: 70% Practical experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases — Intermediate level (>3 years) — Weighting: 30% domain Randstad Deutschland Leading-edge innovations and technical excellence in the geospatial domain.
