Job description
The Data & Insight team at Brother International Europe supports European operations across three pillars: Data Engineering, Insights and Data Governance. As our team grows, we are looking for a Data Engineering Manager to strengthen coordination, delivery quality and the development of robust, scalable data pipelines. The role combines day-to-day management, team development and hands-on technical contributions to key initiatives. This role goes beyond senior architecture expertise: we are looking for someone who can organise the team’s work, improve Data Engineering practices and ensure more reliable delivery. Your main responsibilities will include: Coordinate day-to-day Data Engineering activities, including prioritisation, progress tracking, delivery quality and stakeholder communication. Manage and support a team of data engineers across several European markets. Contribute to the design, development and improvement of data pipelines using our Snowflake, Matillion and Snowpipe stack. Participate in technical reviews to improve code quality, documentation, maintainability and pipeline reliability. Collaborate with Insights, Data Governance, IT and business stakeholders to translate requirements into clear, practical data solutions. Help establish best practices for development, testing, monitoring and incident management. Support team members in developing their technical skills and autonomy. Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data platform and the progressive standardisation and scaling of Data Engineering practices.

Qualifications:
We are looking for someone with solid experience (at least five years) in Data Engineering, Data Platforms or data pipeline development, alongside initial experience in people management, technical coordination or mentoring junior colleagues. You should be able to contribute technically to key initiatives, organise the team’s work and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across Europe. Required

Excellent SQL skills and a good working knowledge of Python for developing and optimising data pipelines. Experience with modern cloud data environments, ideally Snowflake, and ELT/ETL tools such as dbt, Airflow, Matillion or equivalent. Strong skills in designing, maintaining and improving data pipelines, with particular attention to quality, monitoring and documentation. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in an international environment. Good understanding of BI/reporting ecosystems and enterprise systems, including ERP, CRM, SAP and Salesforce.
