Be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution or have graduated from one within the past 6 months prior to the internship start date. We Want to Meet You Join Pomerleau as a GIS Data Analyst Intern and gain real-world experience supporting major construction projects across Canada through geospatial data management, GIS standard development, and spatial analysis. What You’ll Do Support the GIS / VDC team in managing, structuring, and updating geospatial data for construction projects. Contribute to the development and enhancement of GIS standards, data models, naming conventions, and organizational best practices. Create maps, dashboards, and visualizations to support preconstruction, estimating, risk, environmental, and operations teams. Perform spatial analyses (site constraints, logistics, accessibility, environmental considerations). Integrate, transform, and validate data from diverse sources (CAD, Excel, databases, GIS services) using tools such as FME. Work with spatial and relational databases to ensure data quality, consistency, and traceability. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide GIS support across projects. This Role Is for You If You Have Enrollment in a college or university program in GIS, geomatics, civil engineering, construction engineering, computer science, or a related field. Foundational knowledge of ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online / Enterprise. Familiarity with or interest in FME (data transformation and automation). Basic database knowledge (geodatabases, relational databases, SQL — an asset). Comfort working with structured data (Excel, tables, spatial layers). A strong interest in the construction and infrastructure sector. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a drive to improve standards and processes. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. French proficiency required; functional English is an asset.
