Williamson County Government Emergency Communications Department is accepting applications for full-time 911 Dispatchers/Telecommunicators. Overview Join our team as a Dispatcher where you will play a crucial role in coordinating and facilitating efficient communication between various parties. As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for dispatching and coordinating emergency response activities. This position requires a keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Preference will be given to those with experience in Emergency Communications. Responsibilities Efficiently dispatch emergency services to designated locations. Utilize GIS and GPS systems to determine the most effective routes for emergency responders. Perform phone triage to assess the nature of emergency calls and prioritize responses accordingly. Analyze incoming information and data to make informed decisions on resource allocation. Communicate effectively with emergency personnel, providing them with necessary information and updates. Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless coordination during emergencies. Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities. Provide support in procedures when necessary. Skills Proficiency in to accurately record information. Familiarity with GIS and GPS systems for efficient route planning. Experience in phone triage to handle emergency calls effectively. Ability to analyze situations quickly and make sound decisions under pressure. Strong communication skills to relay critical information clearly and concisely. Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure. Knowledge of first aid procedures is a plus. A High School Diploma or a GED is required.
