- 12:00 (Europe/Paris) Country France Type of Contract Temporary Job Status Full-time Hours Per Week 35 Offer Starting Date 1 Sep 2027 Is the job funded through the EU Research Framework Programme? Horizon Europe – COFUND Marie Curie Grant Agreement Number 101261856 Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No Offer Description BioMedical AFM technology is revolutionizing many areas of biomedicine, from biomolecules to cells and tissues. By providing physiological, label-free imaging and mechanical measurements, it opens the door to advanced approaches in BioMechanics and BioImaging. While BioMedical AFM has the potential to support biomedical research and society in many areas, the high economic cost of commercial systems remains a major obstacle, hindering its development into a widespread technology for medicine. For some years, we have been engaged in the fabrication of a socially engaged, open AFM for biomedicine. Now, we want to take our efforts and prototypes further—and we need your help to break the wall that prevents Biomedical AFM from reaching many more people. Our Goals:
- Lower the price of these machines to make them accessible to more researchers.
- Create low-cost solutions to help spread BioMedical AFM.
- Enhance clinical and hospital research applications through wider technology adoption. We Are Looking For:
- An engaged person who enjoys participating in the creation of machines.
- Hands-on experience with low-cost fabrication methods, such as 3D printing.
- Technical skills to integrate our AFM control electronics. The program supports 17 experienced researchers in biological and medical imaging recruited by Aix-Marseille University and the University of Tübingen (amU & UT) for a period of 36 months, in an environment of excellence that includes:
- high-level research
- access to state-of-the-art facilities
- personalized and group training
- career guidance and support
