Role Description
This full-time Maitre D'hotel role at Maison Delano Paris is a hybrid position, based onsite in Paris with some flexibility for administrative work from home. The role oversees daily restaurant operations, including greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and coordinating table assignments to optimize service flow. The Maitre D'hotel leads the front-of-house team, ensuring high service standards, handling guest inquiries and concerns, and maintaining smooth communication between the dining room and kitchen. Responsibilities include supervising service during all meal periods, supporting menu presentations, collaborating with the culinary team on special events, and upholding Maison Delano’s brand standards. The role also involves training and mentoring staff, monitoring quality and hygiene, and assisting with reporting and administrative tasks such as schedules and basic documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to create welcoming, personalized guest experiences and resolve issues professionally.
- Solid knowledge of food & beverage operations, including menu familiarity, wine and beverage service, and fine dining standards.
- Experience in food service environments, overseeing front-of-house activities and coordinating service across multiple shifts.
- Excellent communication skills for clear interaction with guests, team members, and kitchen staff, in both verbal and written formats.
- Basic understanding of cooking and culinary processes to communicate accurately about dishes, ingredients, and special requests.
- Previous experience as a Maitre D'hotel, head waiter, or similar leadership role in upscale or luxury hospitality settings.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities, including team coordination, mentoring, and performance oversight.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by hotel and restaurant operations.
- Proficiency in French and English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Knowledge of reservation and POS systems, with comfort using digital tools for scheduling and guest management.
