About Phi Partners
Phi Partners has been a trusted capital markets consultancy for more than 20 years, providing quantitative and technology expertise across front office, pricing and risk. We support more than 80 financial institutions across the buy-side and sell-side through niche capabilities spanning quant, engineering, vendor platforms and cloud infrastructure. Our teams work on complex, real-world problems across models, analytics, applications, data and cloud infrastructure, within an international delivery organisation built around regional hubs and specialist centres of excellence. For people who enjoy technically demanding work in capital markets, Phi offers the opportunity to work closely with expert colleagues and major financial institutions on high-value, business-critical initiatives.
About the Programme
One of our clients is a leading European corporate and investment bank with a substantial global markets franchise, operating across pre-trade, sales and execution technology from its Paris technology hub.
Phi Partners is supporting the team responsible for the bank's ETF and index trading platform, within the division covering pre-trade, sales and execution. The team sits close to the trading desks and owns the electronic trading components underpinning algorithmic ETF activity. It is made up of a manager, a project leader, four business analysts and ten developers.
The work is real-time and latency sensitive. The components in scope publish, record and replay high volumes of internal and external market data, and feed the gateway layer that connects to the bank's order management systems. Two positions are open on the team, at differing levels of seniority.

- Designing and developing the publishing, recording and re-publishing (replay) components for internal and external market data
- Designing and developing re-publisher simulation strategies, including what-if scenario replay
- Designing and developing the external gateways that connect the platform to the bank's order management systems
- Building components capable of sustaining very high event throughput, updates, insertions and deletions, with predictable latency
- Contributing to the definition of good practice for real-time application development across the team
- Engaging directly with users to translate their stated requirements into workable technical designs and implementations
- Supporting the implementation of trading algorithms alongside the algorithmic trading specialists Key Skills The ideal candidate will have:
- 1-5 years' professional experience in C# / .
NET (version 6 or above) with strong engineering skills in memory management, multithreading and asynchronous programming
- Demonstrable experience building components that handle a high volume of events while maintaining performance and stability
- Sound functional knowledge of trading applications, including automated trading, order books, quoters and hedgers
- The communication skills to work directly with front-office users and translate business needs into technical outcomes
- Fluent English
- Desirable: comparable experience within the front office of a corporate and investment bank, exposure to third-party order management platforms, and familiarity with ETF or index-linked products Next steps This is an opportunity to work on genuinely low-latency, high-throughput components at the centre of an electronic trading platform, in a team with real ownership of its technology. If you are interested in this role, please email me your CV at ashutosh.pawar@phipartners.com along with your availability for a call so that we can discuss it further.
