About The Role
As the Lead Data Scientist at VoltaMedical, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our AI technology. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, driving the development of advanced machine learning and deep learning algorithms that are embedded in medical devices used daily in electrophysiology labs globally. Reporting directly to the VP of Innovation, you will combine scientific expertise, technical leadership, and strategic vision to ensure the delivery of innovative AI solutions aligned with product and business goals. Your work will directly impact the development of next-generation AI algorithms, ensuring they meet stringent medical device quality and regulatory standards. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead cutting-edge research and development initiatives in a fast-paced, innovative environment dedicated to improving patient outcomes through technology. Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in leading data science teams and projects, preferably within the MedTech or healthcare industry
- Strong expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling
- Experience with AI frameworks and programming languages such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar
- Knowledge of medical device development processes and regulatory standards (ISO 13485, FDA regulations) is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into practical solutions
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to stay current with the latest advances in AI and identify opportunities for integration into product development Responsibilities
- Define and execute the Data Science roadmap aligned with product development and business priorities
- Lead the design, development, and validation of state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning algorithms
- Ensure scientific excellence and promote best practices in AI research and development
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and identify opportunities to incorporate new technologies into Volta's products
- Support the development of data strategies and contribute to the continuous improvement of data collection pipelines and infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and regulatory affairs to ensure seamless integration of AI solutions
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation and scientific rigor
