Junior Prompt Engineer

Gulf Associates is looking for a Junior Prompt Engineer to support our advisory team in translating commercial logic into precise instructions for large language models. We are currently advising a major French retail group that is exploring how to better use data to guide their partnership decisions and capital deployment. In this role, you will help ensure that the AI tools we use provide outputs that are accurate, logical, and grounded in the practical realities of the market. This is a permanent, full-time position that is fully remote, allowing you to contribute to senior-level advisory work from your own environment. What you will do
- Draft and test prompts to extract specific commercial insights from large volumes of market research and counterparty data.
- Refine model instructions to ensure the tone and logic match the professional standards required for sovereign entities and chief executives.
- Compare the outputs of different models to identify which ones best capture the nuances of complex investment scenarios.
- Help build and maintain a structured library of prompts that the team can use for recurring analysis tasks.
- Assist in reviewing AI-generated summaries against original source documents to ensure there are no factual errors or hallucinations.
- Work closely with senior partners to understand their commercial judgment and translate it into effective model inputs.
- Document the testing process to show why certain prompt structures are more effective than others for specific client needs.
- Stay informed about new techniques for interacting with language models to improve the speed and quality of our internal research. What you bring
- Exceptional writing skills in English, with a focus on clarity, precision, and logical structure.
- A high level of commercial curiosity and an interest in how large businesses make investment decisions.
- The ability to follow complex instructions and turn them into structured, repeatable processes.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when reviewing text for subtle inconsistencies or logical gaps.

- Basic familiarity with how large language models function and a willingness to learn new technical skills on the job.
