Ingénieur Principal en Mécanique – Data Centre Design Consultancy

Full-time, permanent (Standard CDI) Working Pattern: 3 days in office, 2 days working from home Interview Process: 2 stages Compensation: €90,000
- €100,000 (gross/brut) + 10% bonus About the Opportunity: We're recruiting on behalf of a specialist engineering design consultancy that works exclusively on data centre projects across France and Europe. They deliver some of the largest and most technically complex projects in the market
- roughly half are hyperscale programmes for major global cloud/tech operators, the rest are colocation facilities ranging from 100-400MW. They are scaling fast on the back of a strong live pipeline and looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to take a leading role on their Data Centre projects.
Responsibilities:
- Leading mechanical design delivery for data centre and mission-critical projects, from concept through to construction support
- Providing technical governance and quality assurance across calculations, specifications, drawings and submissions produced by the wider team
- Acting as mechanical engineering lead in client meetings, technical workshops and design reviews
- Ensuring designs comply with French regulations (RE2020, ICPE) and relevant international standards (ASHRAE, EN 50600)
- Supporting construction-stage activities, including site inspections and technical resolution
- Mentoring and developing engineers across the team Skills/Experience:
- Extensive mechanical/HVAC design experience, ideally in data centres, with a track record leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit (Hevacomp, IES and CFD modelling software is a bonus)
- English and French
skills:
one to a strong/fluent level, one to a conversational (B2) level
- Based in or open to relocating to Paris
