Tasks
  • Be a thought partner to the CFO and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), collaborate closely with the Global Controller and Chief of Staff, support disciplined capital allocation further to business case development, as well as due diligence support, sensitivity & scenario analysis and risk evaluation.
  • Set the tone for Company reporting, dashboarding and insights generation. Provide analytics & insights, create & maintain KPI dashboards.
  • Act as a financial gatekeeper and business partner to ascertain efficient use of monetary and human resources.
  • Lead the development of all financial and business actuals reporting and budgets (including 3 annual revisions of budget) and the budgeting process and develop multi-year company forecasts, including strategic plan financials, while working with members throughout the organization as a real business partner, at Nano Group level.
  • Monitor, Drive and Set the tone for budget processes and develop accurate forecasts and ensure appropriate challenges are raised with the business partners to achieve better-than-plan status, collaborate with HR to map resource requirements and the fulfilment thereof.
  • Utilize financial forecasts to drive near-term decisions and long-term strategic plans in partnership with the Executive Board and functional leaders, including Business Variance Analysis, quarterly reporting, analytical and functional reviews, and consider implementation of program reporting.
  • Support ELT, Chief of Staff, Controller, Strategy, Business Development & investor relations, to create a scalable approach to (revenue) growth and value creation at the company level and Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial and KPI reporting as requested by the CFO.
  • Collaborate with Finance Function on IFRS analysis functional cost reporting, and with accounting team on Accruals computation, regarding both clinical studies accruals (R&D services cut-offs determination) and all other department accruals. R&D/SG&A Analysis at the Group Level (including Nano SA and Nano Corp), US GAAP reporting implications in case thresholds no longer apply, etc.
  • As responsible and business owner of FP&A function, ensure SOX compliance and Risk Management over the scope of responsibilities and any interfaces and data traceability with accounting, reporting, disclosure and SOX tools. Participate to the audit process and answer auditor requests in the frame of the bi-annual audit reviews (accruals, budgeting, clinical study cost follow-up and P&L analysis).
  • Manage and evolve WAP cloud solution and reporting (Cash Reports, Monthly Accruals and Budget and forecasts processes), ensure administration and maintenance of departments & analytical & project codes and WAP structure, and collaborate with the accounting team to align and execute closing controls. Deploy training when needed.
  • More generally, leverage prior experience (e.g. public company reporting, audit, SOX, ERP and finance systems, general ledger, CRSD, etc.) to support the development of a world-class finance function, including increased use of automation, decreased use of manual processes and controls, intelligence to harness the power of data and simplify transactional processes. Implement new processes and technologies/capabilities as needed to adapt to changing business environments and requirements.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities including a proactive approach to finding solutions, mentoring team members, and setting high standards for the organization
  • Experienced in developing biopharmaceutical financial plans and knowledgeable in life sciences lifecycle and related operations. Commercial financial planning experience is a plus.
  • Experience in scaling an FP&A organization (both processes and tools), in setting accurate dashboards and P&L reports to support the CFO and the ELT in visualizing and monitoring the financial performance of the Company, in a fast-paced and growing biopharmaceutical company a strong plus
  • Able to drive and support ELT
  • A high degree of business and technical proficiency and judgment are essential, including experience in IFRS, SOX and ideally prior exposure to CRSD
  • Experience with cloud-based tool implementations (ERP) and use of data visualization tools (Power BI or others)
  • Accounting and/or audit background
  • Analytical, strategic, adept at solving complex issues and uses innovative approaches, anchored in a ‘business mind’
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and "get it done” mindset.

  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues in a simple, logical, and brief manner
