Job Description
As a Project Manager within our company's Engineering/Process Department, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating several innovative projects aimed at improving the profitability and quality of the company's European operations. You will lead each project from initial study to full implementation, ensuring that set objectives are achieved within specified timelines and budget constraints. These projects may include flow studies, process optimization, and the design of technological machinery.
Responsibilities:
· Designing detailed analyses for each project using the DMAIC methodology, and objectively evaluating all technical solutions to a problem while calculating the project's return on investment (ROI).
· Developing comprehensive project plans, including implementation steps, timelines, required resources, and allocated budgets.
· Coordinating and overseeing project execution to ensure the achievement of set objectives within specified timelines.
· Designing, supervising procurement, installation, and validation of technological devices to improve operational processes, ensuring their integration.
· Regularly monitoring project progress and taking corrective actions if necessary.
· Proactively communicating with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and resolving any issues that may arise.
· Ensuring comprehensive documentation of each project, including study results, calculation methods, tested solutions, and post-implementation analyses.
· Collaborating closely with operational teams to understand their needs and challenges, and being proactive in proposing projects to improve their efficiency.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field.
· Previous experience in project management, preferably in the logistics or supply chain sector, or significant operational experience with a deep understanding of processes.
· Demonstrated skills in process analysis, problem-solving, innovative solution development, and proficiency in lean management methods.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and high-level stakeholders
Based on the previous description, we’d like a nice addition.
In the team, we lack some “high engineering/technical knowledge”
So, we’d be eager to look into someone that knows how to use Autocad/Catia/Inventor/Fusion360/Solidworks or alike, with knowledge in electricity, basic knowledge in and/or programming/electronics/PLC
The idea here being that in our team, when there’s an idea, we’re currently able to ask suppliers to find us a technical solution and to challenge the Return of investment of that solution and check compatibility with our process. But it’d be nice to have someone that could, even globally, design those solution (generally small automation, mechanical design, or simple electronics) and send the blueprints to suppliers, and then challenge the propositions from those suppliers (on cost or on technical choice).
Couple of examples are a machine that tip (returns) pallet of parcels, a system with high end camera that reads barcodes, a system that allows us to see our depots in VR, another that prints our depots in 3D to play on the field on different organisation, another one that was design polyester bags and choose material and material thickness etc…
Ideally, an engineer that has turn around in engineering for a couple of years in different companies/domains, and that is now looking to change scope, looking for another international adventure/job.
Fluent English speaking is mandatory, optional French or polish is appreciated.
