Newrest IAH, a new airline catering company in Houston, is lookingfor a Transportation Dock Lead to work out of the George Bush Internationalairport. As a Transportation Lead, you ensure that the Drivers have everythingthat is needed to cater the flights correctly. The Lead will also be a Driverand Caterer for the airline flights and work closely with the Drivers. Youlead by example and by word in everything you do, including catering flights,customer service, quality, cleanliness, uniforms, and training.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead Responsibilities
Manageand monitor drivers and Helpers to meet labor productivity and overtimetargets . PerformDriver and Helper responsibilities as needed to ensure all flights are catered Ensureon-time and accurate catering of all flights Assistthe Transportation Supervisor in ensuring compliance with all governmentregulatory agencies standards Train andguide employees in the execution of their duties Checkthat all teams are catering correct aircraft and flights Assistteams with late flights and equipment changes Train new drivers andhelpers Be diligent, punctual, and reliable Perform other duties assigned.Driver Responsibilities
Load andunload of all equipment on a truck Check theconformity of the amount of trolleys and cabinets to be delivered beforeloading Fillpre-trip inspection book & perform mandatory safety checks of the vehiclefor each shift Ensureloading the products into vehicles according to plan galley Ensure ontime delivery of all items for each flight Communicateby radio to supervisors and dispatchers Drive aheavy vehicle respecting traffic regulations Secureall products before delivery to the aircraft by sealing material Ensurecompliance of loading according to the procedures in place Ensurecleaning of the vehicle and the area around the dock after each shift Fillvarious security, safety and HACCP documents as needed Installprotective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shiftingor damage to items being transported Observethe proper use of equipment Followall procedures for health, safety and security Maintainclean working area, maintain clean loading docks, maintain clean equipmentfollowing rules
Perfil
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
HighSchool Diploma required Minimum2 years’ experience as a Lead, preferably in Transportation orrelated industry Must be able to pass SIDA Badge requirementQUALIFICATIONS
Abilityto work well under pressure and deadlines Strong communication and leadership skills Good understandingof logistics and fleet procedures Goodknowledge of HACCP & food safety standards Aptitudein showing self-initiative and follow-through Detail-orientedand ability to see high pictureThe physical demands described here are representative of thosethat must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essentialresponsibilities of this job.
