Role and Responsibilities:

Technical

Input where possible during development of tender, pricing and risk register.Assist in the preparation & review of key control documents to include Risk Assessments, Quality Plans associated with project, Coating Method Statements.Understand and implement specifications applicable to the defined scope of work.Conduct lead testing prior to removal of old/existing coating systems.Attend Constructability Reviews as required.Attend HAZCONs as required.

Delivery Phase

Carry out salt testing prior to application of coating commencing.Conduct atmospheric testing prior to start of each shift or when applying coatings outside and weather conditions are looking to change.Issue coatings to supervisor and log details as required.Carry out measurement of coating mixes for part batches by weight, dependant on specific density.Ensure adherence to method statements.Ensure work is carried out in accordance with the relevant coating’s specifications.Oversight of any coating subcontractors who may be engaged.

Quality Assurance

Inspection for surface imperfections.Inspection of surface preparation prior to coating being applied.Inspection of blast profile (If used) prior to coating being applied.Inspection of Wet Film Thickness once coating applied.Inspection of even coverage of each coating layer applied.Inspection of Dry Film Thickness once coating applied.Ensure the identification of parts has not been lost during coatings process.Ensure inspection certificates are completed in line with the schedule and are issued to the QA department for inclusion in the LTR.Attend formal LFE session on completion of works.

Costs

Daily capturing of any EW issues and CENs etc.Continuously look at potential cost saving opportunities.Report any opportunities to the Project Manager for inclusion in the benefits realisation register.

Administration of Project Documents

Raising specific project documentation as required (ie. CEN’s,TQ’s EW’s, GC’s etc)Utilisation of CEMAR where required.Manage the upkeep of the Paint Method Statement register.Compile daily Inspection reports.Ensure ITPs and Quality plans are signed off concurrent to works being undertaken.Compile LTR records including data sheet, painting method statement and daily inspection report concurrent to work being carried out.Reviewing and approving of all coatings LTR records prior to submission to Client.

While performing the responsibilities of this role, the work environment characteristics are representative of the environment that you will encounter. Reasonable accommodations to be made to enable all employees to perform the essential functions of their job.

While performing the duties of this role, employees will be occasionally surrounded by construction activities and varied mechanical operations. The relative risk is moderate, and all Sellafield plant / building inductions and health and safety standards should be adhered to at times.
