Financial Business Controller

DP World is currently in search of a Paris-based Financial Business Controller with a background experience in Freight Forwarding . This role will report into the Finance Director - Air, Ocean & Freight Forwarding , with the aim of strengthening our Finance & Controlling team, in France. The role will initially be responsible for the monthly reporting of the Freight Forwarding business units, within France and will also involve playing a key role in the expansion of the division within this region.
Key Accountabilities:
Preparation of the monthly business reports, for the individual business unit(s). Liaising closely with the Consolidation and Financial Accounting departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting Preparation of detailed analysis & reporting on the variances to budget and forecasts Preparation of the monthly Business Unit KPI’s, with analysis of movements in performance Review the monthly performance with the Business Unit managers and preparation, monitoring of follow up / corrective action requirements to ensure optimal operational performance Preparation of the annual budget and forecasts, for the individual Business Units Assisting with the year-end statutory reporting Assisting with the setting up of new business units (from a financial reporting requirement perspective) Completion of other ad-hoc duties as assigned.Job Context
The role of Financial Business Controller, is a hybrid role, based in Home-Office and in one of our location in Paris.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similarEXPERIENCE
Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an operationally focused finance roleDefinite asset:
Experience of SAP is desirable (not essential) Knowledge of IFRS & local GAAP reporting regulations is an advantage (not essential) Previous experience of working in an audit role would be an advantage (not essential)SKILLS
Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively, in order to meet reporting deadlines Ability to communicate with a variety of people, with different regional backgrounds and roles Strong business acumen and the ability to see the “Big Picture” Flexibility and the willingness to learn and develop on the job Strong verbal and written communication skills in English & French Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools – a strong Excel proficiency is essential (knowledge of the BPC add-on would be an advantage).Compensation
