We are now recruiting for the Sizewell B outage however Flexibility is essential as you'll need to travel across sites to meet operational demands once the Sizewell B outage is over.
You'll have the chance to work across other EDF sites: including Hinkley Point B, Heysham 1, Heysham 2, Hartlepool, Torness, Dungeness B and Hunterston B.
However, we offer a permanent contract allowing you to transition seamlessly between sites and work on outages.
CTC clearance is necessary, but Altrad will facilitate this process for you.
As a Rigger, you will be responsible to set up lifting equipment and erect working platform for use in construction, maintenance and repair of engineering plant and machinery.
Roles and Responsibilities
Ascertain job requirements from drawings or other specifications including lifting studies/plans.
Inspect items to be moved, determine weight and decide on type of equipment to be used.
Erect jib, derrick or similar hoisting equipment using winches as necessary and to install lifting tackle such as ropes and pulleys etc.
Attach slings, chains or other grappling equipment to the item to be moved and to connect to hoisting equipment.
Direct equipment operator to move object to required position.
Splice wire and fibre ropes.
Operate hydraulic jacking equipment and move objects on rollers.
Trained and operate a Forklift Truck as per site/client requirements
Adhere to all safety requirements including safety checks of tools and equipment.
Use all relevant workshops/site equipment associated with job requirements including all relevant training/certification requirements.
What we are looking for:
Valid CCNSG Safety Passport
Approved Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3
