Retail Wine Advisor

We are looking for an ambitious and proven Retail Wine Advisor to join our team at Château de Pommard. This role reports directly to our Manager of Retail Sales. Your mission will be to educate clients about the Climats of Burgundy and guide them through one of our Wine Education Tastings. If you have a natural way of connecting with people of all cultures and backgrounds and experience in fine wine education and sales, this might be your next career move. Of course, you must also genuinely love Burgundy.

Responsibilities

• Become a trained expert in our range of Educational Wine Tastings on viticulture, winemaking, and wine regions of the world
• Greet clients and make them feel welcome in Burgundy and Château de Pommard
• Guide clients through one of our Educational Wine Tastings following our format and script, but adding your own personality and wine background to bring alive the experience in your own way
• Achieve your Retail Wine Sales goal each month by introducing clients to our wines and closing sales during their Tastings
• Learn and convey expert knowledge about our wine range, biodynamic winemaking, history, and our cutting-edge renovation project (next 300 years)

• 3+ years of successful Wine Education and Wine Sales with fine wines
• Fluency in French and English
• Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 2+, Certified Sommelier, Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) or equivalent training
• Demonstrated ability to connect with people of different cultural backgrounds
• Working knowledge of and passion for the Burgundy wine region
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and "get it done” mindset
• A true sales instinct and comfort with performance-driven compensation

Temporary contract that can lead to a permanent contract
