General Description:
The EIC team at Subsea 7 provides expertise in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls across Low Carbon Oils & Gas and New Energies, from technology development to project delivery. Our team offers a versatile, multicultural, and friendly environment that encourages continuous learning and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist skills, integrity, and knowledge in key areas of discipline engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements, and current good engineering practices. Independently evaluate, organize, and prioritize work for self and others. Take responsibility for the production of deliverables. Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed. Recognize and accept HSE Roles & Responsibilities as per Subsea 7’s HSE Role and Responsibility matrix. Live and promote Subsea 7 Values. Support technology and product development initiatives. Collaborate with Subsea 7 offices globally to deliver projects.Role Specific – Key Responsibilities & Activities:
Establish and maintain product roadmaps in collaboration with the Product Commercial Lead, Product Director, and relevant technology programs to meet market demands, improve cost competitiveness, and enhance delivery efficiency. Lead and coordinate product improvement activities, ensuring alignment with budget and project scope. Conduct specific product studies and analysis to support the Product Engineering Manager, Product Commercial Lead, or Product Director. Collaborate with the Product SCM engineer to identify and progress alternative sourcing solutions to enhance product supply chain competitiveness and resilience. Provide technical inputs to early engagement studies and participate in product selection processes. Maintain and manage comprehensive product knowledge, including communication materials. Stay updated on technology advancements relevant to the product portfolio, focusing on industry papers, technical forums, and patents. Drive innovation and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for new product development and enhancements.Technical Knowledge:
Expertise in Electrical Systems – LV/MV/HV AC. Knowledge of Electrical Failure modes, with an emphasis on Partial Discharge. Proficiency in hardware specification and sizing of electrical components. Ability to perform and review electrical analysis. Experience in testing and commissioning.Personal Attributes:
Strong communication skills and collaborative behaviour. Encourages the production of new ideas. Experience working in a multi-disciplined engineering team. Ability to prioritize workload, manage time effectively, and inform team members of any constraints affecting project timelines or budgets. Technical proficiency in vendor and third-party management. Willingness to travel.Additional Skills:
Familiarity with Subsea Power Distribution Equipment, including Subsea Connectors & Flying Leads. Experience with power distribution calculations using ETAP software (desirable). Understanding of safety area equipment requirements.Diversity and Inclusion:
