The R&D centers on the Maizières campus rely on the Shared Services Unit to achieve their strategic and operational objectives within the ArcelorMittal group. The HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) team is an integral part of the site's shared services, reporting to the site manager. It is responsible for risk assessment, and, in agreement with site management, proposes a safety, health and environmental policy. It also works to reduce the environmental impact of our operations through a sustainable development policy.
Your role
As a Chemical Product Engineer within the HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) department of the Maizières-Les-Metz R&D site:
- You will be the company's contact for chemical and ATEX risk prevention.
- You will manage the assessment and prevention of chemical and ATEX risks (exposure studies, analysis of SDS, search for substitute products, etc.) and set up monitoring and control systems.
- You will manage the introduction of new chemical products on the site and ensure their follow-up.
- You will monitor the regulations governing the prevention of chemical risks, and ensure compliance with these obligations.
- You will inform, advise and support the company's various players in chemical risk prevention and environmental toxicology.
- You will contribute to monitoring employee exposure to hazardous chemical agents and CMRs.
- You will develop and run awareness-raising and training programs.
- You will manage improvement initiatives, lead working groups and actively contribute to the prevention of occupational hazards.
Your profile
- You hold a Master degree in Engineering or an equivalent experience, specializing in HSE, toxicology and/or chemistry.
- You have at least 5 years' experience in an equivalent position in an HSE structure within an industrial environment.
- You are advanced in French and in English.
- You are trained in ISO45001 and ISO14001 HSE management systems and are able to deploy the associated management tools.
- In addition to your technical skills, you enjoy working in the field, are open-minded and have good interpersonal skills.
- You have cross-functional management skills, good communication and leadership skills, and the ability to bring people together.
- You are organized, rigorous, constructive and able to analyze and summarize.
