Job Opportunity:
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a Casualty Underwriter to join our team in Paris.
This position will be a great fit for an experienced Casualty Underwriter with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, looking to expand responsibilities and underwriting knowledge as well as grow a book of business. We are seeking an individual who is hard working, team-oriented, passionate, and always strives towards excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the accurate evaluation, selection, and pricing of Casualty risk Strong technical underwriting skills, extensive knowledge of rating tools and ability to work with actuaries when required Underwrite and grow profitable book of business within the established underwriting guidelines Proactive interaction and maintaining relationships with brokers and customers Identify and develop new business pipelines and manage renewal retention to meet and exceed financial plans Work with cross functional teams in development and execution of business Be a team player and ready to undertake additional tasks and projects in support of the overall objectives of the BHSI Support management in developing strategies to drive profitable results in line with department objectives. Assist on product/price benchmarking in the market and feedback on product enhancements Advocate BHSI’s culture and values and uphold our reputation in the marketQualifications, Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years Casualty underwriting experience Strong underwriting acumen Experience and strong understanding of policy forms, including broker manuscripts High level of interpersonal and negotiation skills. Ability to demonstrate sales, marketing, and relationship building experience Ability to work in and adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing environment Ability to manage workload effectively, especially during peak seasonal periods Law Degree or equivalent technical education, and/or strong insurance qualificationsBHSI Offers:
