The Asset Management function within Altrad Babcock is a highly specialised engineering services and equipment provider supporting customers to minimise cost, maximise return and mitigate risk through their asset integrity lifecycle. We are recruiting exceptional candidates to join our mission in becoming a fully certified Asset Management engineering services provider of both consultancy and integrated projects, across future global low carbon energy and infrastructure markets.
The Engineering Design team within our Asset Management business area provides support services to the Nuclear & Defence, Process & Energy, Power Generation and Oil & Gas sectors across their whole asset lifecycle. Within this team we have an opportunity for a Design Engineer to join us in Renfrew.
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to lead the mechanical design of components, mechanical systems, and our products both internally and with our clients, while building and maintaining relationships with the team and clients to enhance expertise and contribute to the engineering design process.
As the Design Engineer, you will take responsibility for generating 3-D product design scopes for engineering solutions, including product development and design for manufacture. This will include engineering design using 3-D CAE tools, production of drawings (BS), modelling, file format conversions, facilitation of design reviews, supplier product evaluations, and design risk management. Pipework Modifications (Anti-Vibration Pipework Supports, Anti-Vibration Pipework Dampers, Basic Pipework Modifications). Design & Constructability Assessment (3D Laser Scanning, 3D Modelling, 3D Measurement, Clash Detection, 3D Surface Geometry Scanning, Presentation, Constructability Reviews, Diameter / Ovality Measurement, Management of 3D Laser, Scanning Sub-contractors).
Our new Design Engineer will hold a relevant Engineering / Science degree or have a technical specialism / post graduate training qualification. It would be beneficial to have sufficient and appropriate experience in one or more of the core Engineering design disciplines.
