The Director of Procurement is responsible for leading and executing strategic sourcing initiatives across global categories, with a focus on Information Technology including Data Communications, Network, and Telecommunications. This role drives supplier strategy, cost optimization, and operational excellence while managing high-value vendor relationships and complex commercial agreements.
The Director serves as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, providing strategic guidance on supplier markets, cost trends, and contract structures. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Sourcing & Category Leadership

Develop and execute global sourcing strategies across assigned spend categories, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives

Lead complex, high-value sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations to secure optimal pricing, terms, and value

Identify and implement innovative procurement strategies to drive competitive advantage and long-term savings
Supplier & Contract Management

Manage strategic supplier relationships, including selection, negotiation, performance management, and compliance

Conduct quarterly business reviews with key suppliers to ensure performance, innovation, and value realization

Drive supplier risk management and ensure adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements
Financial & Cost Management

Deliver measurable cost savings through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and demand management

Perform cost analysis, benchmarking, and market assessments to support data-driven decision-making

Leverage enterprise-wide spending and supplier relationships to maximize value
Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with senior leaders across IT, Finance, Legal, and business units to align sourcing strategies with business priorities

Act as a strategic advisor on commercial matters, supplier markets, and contract structures

Support integration of acquisitions into global procurement processes and standards
Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Promote the use of e-sourcing and automation to reduce cycle times and improve transparency

Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor sourcing effectiveness and supplier performance
Team Leadership & Development

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or contract management

3 years of experience leading teams and managing people
