Role Overview
We are seeking a senior-level Telecommunications Expert & Network Architect to design, emulate, and deploy a secure, automated network infrastructure. This project moves fast: you will start by building a functional network architecture on an emulation platform, integrate automated supervision (monitoring) systems, and ultimately transition to on-site deployment and hands-on team mentoring in Gabon.
Because our network environment is highly secure and cannot be accessed via international VPNs, local presence in Gabon during the implementation phase is mandatory.
Key ResponsibilitiesPhase 1: Architecture & Emulation (Remote Start)
- Deconstruct a detailed project specification sheet (cahier des charges) to design a functional network architecture.
- Build, test, and validate the architecture within a network emulation platform.
- Conduct a live emulation demo for the executive leadership team (including the Director General) to prove proof-of-concept stability.
Phase 2: Supervision Automation
- Design and implement an automated supervision (monitoring) protocol to track network health, performance, and security.
- Ensure the automation framework is modular and hardware-agnostic, capable of adapting to equipment upgrades over the next 1–2 years by simply updating connectors.
Phase 3: On-Site Deployment & Mentoring (Gabon)
- Travel on-site to Gabon to lead the local implementation of the network.
- Work side-by-side with our internal technical teams, providing expert oversight, guidance, and knowledge transfer to accelerate their autonomy.
- Coordinate with your own back-office support team/specialists if necessary to fast-track deployment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Deep Telecom Expertise: Proven track record in large-scale telecommunications engineering, infrastructure routing, and network architecture design.
- Emulation & Simulation: Mastery of network emulation platforms (e.g., GNS3, EVE-NG, or enterprise equivalents) for proof-of-concept testing.
- Network Automation: Strong experience automating network supervision, monitoring tools, and operational workflows.
- Security Mindset: Absolute comfort working within highly restricted, air-gapped, or strictly local network environments.
- Mobility: Full willingness and ability to deploy on-site in Gabon for the final implementation phase.
Preferred Qualifications (The "A Plus")
- Language Fluency: Fluency in French is a massive advantage, as it is required for seamless collaboration with our executive team and local engineering staff in Gabon.
- Team Leadership: Experience mentoring and upskilling local technical teams during a deployment.
Project Logistics & Hiring Process
- Confidentiality: Selected candidates will be required to sign a formal Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before detailed network contexts and project specifications are shared.
- First Deliverable: Upon signing the NDA, you will provide a preliminary methodology/scoping proposal detailing your approach to the emulation phase, alongside a financial/consulting fee estimate.
