Control & Signaling (C&S) is a business unit within Schneider Electric’s Industry / Industrial Controls & Drives division. The C&S product portfolio includes:

  • Electromechanical products for machine control panels (pushbuttons, indicator lights, joysticks, pendant boxes, etc.)
  • Electronic control panel components (wireless and battery-free buttons, biometric controllers)
  • Remote industrial control products (radio-controlled hoist remote controls)
  • Electromechanical industrial relays, electronic industrial relays
  • Signal towers and buzzers

Your role:

You will join the C&S division’s Research and Development team in Angoulême, a dynamic and dedicated team where a positive work environment, customer focus, innovation, collaboration, and meeting deadlines are the hallmarks of our daily work.

You will report to the Director of Research and Development (Maelle) and serve as the simulation expert for the C&S division.

Your missions:

  • Play a key role in translating business requirements into reliable models, analyzing results, and recommending concrete actions to guide technical and strategic decisions
  • Conduct all necessary simulations: shock, vibration, sealing, rheology, thermal, endurance, dynamics/mechanics, multiphysics/mechatronics, optics
  • Analyze and interpret results and propose product/process optimizations based on them
  • Design digital experimental designs and explore critical system parameters
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, Project, Industrialization, and Marketing teams to integrate simulation into development cycles
  • Monitor technological developments regarding tools, methods, and trends in the field
  • Ensure correlation between simulations and physical tests
  • Prepare all simulation files and reports
  • Contribute to internal methodologies and team training
  • Ensure the reliability of simulations and compliance with standards

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering and modeling
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in numerical simulation (electromechanical, mechanical, multiphysics)
  • Expert in recognized simulation tools such as ANSYS

Your competences:

  • Excellent ability to define simulation strategies, select and configure simulation tools, automate processes, and interpret results
  • Excellent ability to structure complex problems and translate them into relevant models
  • Strong general technical knowledge of electromechanical simulations and related tools
  • Excellent knowledge of metallic and plastic materials (selection and optimization)
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical stresses (fatigue, impact, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of products in harsh environments
  • An analytical mind, scientific rigor, and technological curiosity
  • Strong communication, teaching, and teamwork skills
  • Good knowledge of industrial standards and requirements
  • Good general technical knowledge of electromechanics and mechanics
  • Experience in the industrial, automotive, or aerospace sectors
  • Professional and technical English
  • Strong interpersonal skills in a multicultural and multi-team environment, as well as strong adaptability and the ability to work independently

For this France based position, the expected pay range is EUR 51.680 - EUR 77.520 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives (annual bonus) at target. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located in France. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level.
