Head of IT Unit (f/m/d) "Integrated Systems and Specialist Applications"
Open to unconventional approaches in research and teaching, the University of Bremen has retained its "character as a place of short distances for people and ideas" since it was founded 50 years ago. It sees the digital transformation as a challenging task for the future that needs to be shaped together.
In terms of organization, the university is currently merging several central IT units into a new IT service center in order to ensure service-oriented, effective work in research, studies, teaching and administration that is geared towards the needs of users. This concerns the areas of IT infrastructure, IT applications and digital services for teaching, research and administration as well as service desk/support, information security and IT project management.
We are looking for a committed and experienced manager for the future Integrated Systems and Specialist Applications department - you will help shape the new processes and the transition to a new structure from the outset. The university would like to increase the proportion of women in management positions - and we are particularly looking forward to receiving applications from suitably qualified women in the IT sector
The main tasks that await you as head of the "Integrated Systems and Specialist Applications" unit

Organizational and technical development of various integrated systems and specialist applications (e.g. Typo3, SAP hotline, CampusNet campus management system, document management system, etc.)
Ensuring the operation of specialist procedures and quality management of central application systems for studies, teaching, research and administration
Supporting the development and safeguarding of IT guidelines and concepts as part of the ISMS
Managing and coordinating external IT service providers and externally provided IT services

Introduction of standardized core processes of IT service management, in particular control and (further) development of requirements management for specialist applications
A degree (Bachelor's, Master's, Diploma) in IT or proven comparable qualifications and knowledge
Implementation of IT service management, application development, system administration, requirements management
Experience in managing teams or projects and IT resource planning
Analytical and conceptual skills as well as a willingness to familiarize yourself with new technologies and IT architectures
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
Business fluent in written and spoken German (C2)
Knowledge of English (B1)
Knowledge of the special requirements of university target groups and a university application landscape would also be an advantage.
