About the role

We are looking for a Team Leader for our CMC and NB activities in France and Belgium.

You will report to the Area Service Line Manager CMC & NB while colleagues from various locations in France and Belgium will be reporting to you.

Area Benelux & France is part of the Maritime Region West Europe consisting of a team of enthusiastic and committed employees taking care of various technical services. These services are related to the following disciplines:

  • CMC - Certification of Materials and Components for vessels and offshore installations

  • VMC/VCA - Verification of Materials and Components, for equipment or installations outside certification or classification requirements

  • NB - New Building classification for vessels and offshore installations

We aim to be the front runner in innovation, digitalization, and customer centricity. For various disciplines new regimes are continuously introduced. Recent examples are electronic certificates, remote inspections, 3D printing, sensor-based maintenance, alternative fuels and now heading towards autonomous shipping. Customer needs and footprint reduction are key elements in this.

Main Tasks:

  • Manage/ support Surveyors during daily operations of NB and CMC & VMC activities

  • Support the day-to-day operation of your team together with planning, support and other stakeholders

  • Lead and inspire your team to ensure good cooperation and results

  • Coach, develop and guide your team members

  • Maintain MTAS competence for surveys and audits

  • Align the work process with other Team Leaders and Service Line Managers

  • Follow up on customer questions and needs

  • Responsible for achieving QPI’s and KPI's

  • Act as a strong sparring partner for the Area CMC & NB Service Line Manager and understand and lead the strategic ambitions of Maritime Region West Europe

Competence needs:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the Maritime industry

  • Very good analytical skills

  • Proven decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Ownership and strong working knowledge of the CMC/ VMC process including rules and WPI

  • Commercial awareness and a customer-centric mindset

  • Project management experience

  • Qualification as NB and/ or CMC Surveyor, as per DNV MTAS system, Auditor qualification desirable

  • Valid driver’s license required

  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly

  • French language will be an advantage
