Structural Engineer

NES Fircroft are delighted to be partnering with a major contractor specialized in Marine & Offshore works who are looking for a Structural Engineer to work on their project based in Cassis, South of France.

The position will operate on a contract basis for an initial 6 month duration for excellent potential to extend beyond as project work scopes develop. The schedule will be Mon – Fri. In return the individual will be provided with an excellent day rate.
You will be doing:
  1. Dimensioning of installation support structures (Structure Leveling Tool, Upending Tool Stacks, Support Stacks, etc.)
  2. Dimensioning of equipment safety systems on barges and ships during the transport and operation phases, subject to the action of environmental conditions ("Grilling & Seafastening")
  3. Creation of calculation notes in project format
  4. Interfaces with draftsmen to take into account calculation results and verification of manufacturing plans
  5. Interfaces with the project's methods and operations engineers in order to adapt the structures to the conditions of use.

We are looking for:
  1. Minimum 3 years of experience in structural analysis (an operational person)
  2. Start date: ASAP, July 1 (mandatory)
  3. Duration of the mission: 6 months full-time
  4. 100% face-to-face (no teleworking)
  5. Experience in our industry
 
 
Education: Master's degree in Mechanics / Naval Architecture / Civil Engineering / Structure
 
Expertise:
  1. Land, Offshore & Subsea Structures
  2. Mastery of the Resistance of Materials
  3. Control of the design and verification of sections and welds
  4. Knowledge of Eurocodes 3 and 8, AISC and API RP 2A structured codes
  5. Knowledge of Seismic Analysis Treatments
  6. Master of ROBOT Structural Analysis Software
