NES Fircroft are looking for a Project Control Engineer, with between 3-7 years experience, for our client in the Marseille region that specialises in Marine & Offshore works, acting for the energy and water sectors.

Responsibilities:
  • Designs, implements and monitors the project control system adapted to the project.
  • Day to day management of risks, contracts, cost and control of current projects.
  • Assist the project manager in conducting a thorough review of the contract and submission and tender documents covering in particular the timetable project manager for all project activities and budget.
  • Design and implement all necessary project control systems to monitor and control the status of the project through the implementation of procedures project control (including cost control, schedule, measurement of progress, reporting, risk and opportunity management (ROKM), billing and document control system) in a timely manner and in accordance with general procedures and applicable contractual requirements of the CONTRACTOR.
  • Establish the project control team, organizational charts, management plan staffing in collaboration with the project manager and ensuring that Project control team members have clear scope and objectives.
  • Direct, coordinate and supervise the work of planning engineers, cost control engineers, document controllers, cost engineers, reports and risks assigned to the project.
  • Assist the project manager in completing the project on time and within schedule approved budget; design and implement the most effective control organization appropriate and most effective on the project to achieve these objectives in accordance with the provisions of the contract and the general procedures of the CONTRACTOR.
  • Support the project manager's decision-making process by providing all the information needed to quickly identify any trends unfavorable or any potential problems in time to start measurements immediate corrective action.
  • Create a climate of awareness of timelines, costs and risks among all participants in the project. Organize and maintain the best integration between planning and control of cost and risk management functions ensuring that all activities are carefully planned and controlled in terms of time, budget and scope of works.
  • Coordinate, during the execution phase, the maintenance of the systems project control ensuring that they are operating effectively and that the status of the project is properly evaluated and communicated.
  • Support the project manager during the life of the project in order to maintain the project within the approved deadlines and budgetary objectives, and in complete safety.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of the detailed budget, in accordance with the coding of SCS positions.
  • Ensure regular and accurate updating of budget forecasts, expenses project and cash flow. Ensure monthly publication of the report review of project management and any other reports, in accordance with the standard of the society.

Experience required:
  • 3-5 years of experience in this position
  • Training: no specific criteria
  • In an ideal world, a person with a background in the client sector /similar activity who understands their methods and our issues (project/maritime work)
  • FLUENT ENGLISH REQUIRED
  • Strategic position so they need a person gifted with communication skills with great interpersonal skills who knows how to work in a team
