Job Description
In this role, you will work within the Sepia Energy team, implementing Sepia’s energy strategy in specific geographies. You will be responsible for understanding the existing energy landscape, and adapt the go-to-market strategy. You will identify, evaluate, and secure energy partnerships and potential projects to support the deployment of our energy hubs and associated energy services on our industrial campuses. You will work closely with utilities, power producers, energy companies, and industrial clients to structure and develop innovative low carbon energy services on our campuses. As appropriate, you will engage with authorities and regulators to promote the evolution of energy policies.
We are looking for a hands-on person with an entrepreneurial mindset who can demonstrate creative problem solving in complex and ambiguous situations.
Key Responsibilities
The Energy & Market Development role encompasses the below responsibilities:
Energy
- Building local energy roadmap for given geographies, in line with Sepia’s strategy and ambition
- TSO relationship management
- Energy suppliers and energy producers partnerships
- Building, shaping and negotiating our low carbon energy contract,
- Lead and structure energy transactions with various stakeholders, as well as develop low carbon energy projects on our campuses
- Energy due-diligence during site selection and campus development
Market Development
- Regulations understanding & development strategy
- Strategy negotiations and advocacy with the national industry association
- Community Engagement Strategy Definition & Support
- NGOs Engagement
- Industry Orgs Engagement
Sepia Infrastructure is a start-up with a small number of employees initially. On that basis, each employee is expected to demonstrate flexibility and agility in their role to ensure Sepia Infrastructure’s overall success.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- [6-10] years of experience in energy and energy projects development
- Good knowledge of European power markets, energy transactions and contracting (PPA, Long term contracts, Energy as a Service, etc.), utility rates
- Relevant experience working with electric utilities, renewable producers, regulators, clean energy advocates, energy policy makers, or other energy industry stakeholders
- Experience working on energy project development in an international context
- Experience with energy transaction structuring and negotiations, power markets, utility rates, transmission or generation resource planning, and carbon-free energy technologies
- Problem-solving skills, creative thinking, ability and desire to create and develop innovative energy solutions
- International mindset and ability to work in a multicultural environment
