Client's team in France is looking for a French speaking Payroll Specialist/Artists’ Accountant to support the team for Vogue World 2024, which is happening in Paris this summer.
Job Title:
French or French speaking Accountant specialized in managing artists, authors, freelancers, and intermittent entertainment workers.
Responsibilities:
Intermittent Workers management:
Communicate payroll details to the intermittent management provider for payroll processing.
Record the payroll of intermittent entertainment workers according to local coding.
Freelancer Payroll Management:
Review freelancer contracts for preparing freelancer payroll.
Input payroll details into the Starcontent application.
Process freelancer payroll.
Control and verify payroll pay slips.
Review and validate the integration of the payroll interface into Workday.
Artists and Copyrights management:
Manage supplier accounts for artists and authors.
Verify invoice compliance with specific accounting and tax regulations for authors and artists, including different applicable VAT rates.
Review fee invoices and copyright payments to ensure accurate accounting for artistic performances and creative works.
Record author and artist invoices according to local coding to generate the annual tax declaration DAS.
Manage payments for expenses incurred by artists and authors. Record these expenses according to local coding.
Prepare tax and social declarations specific to artists and authors. Calculate Agessa contributions and CSG CRDS taxes for declaration.
Regularly communicate with artists and authors to address their financial and accounting needs.
Skills:
Degree in accounting.
Previous experience in accounting for artists, authors, freelancers, or intermittent entertainment workers.
Knowledge of tax and social regulations applicable to the artist sector in France.
Reactivity to the needs and specifics of the cultural and artistic sector.
The ideal candidate has experience specific to the media industry; after not finding anyone in France, they are hoping to identify someone in the UK since it has a more dynamic market.
The focus will be on managing the invoices and how these are paid, filed, taxed etc therefore knowledge of the French tax system is fundamental, as well as French laws/regulations.
Most of the proceedings are still manual and not through an automated/digital system.
This role will be working with the team in Paris and all operations will be French based; as much as the worker is welcome to work from the Adelphi in London, this can be remote, or if the candidate is already based in France, they can join the team in their Paris office. Although no travel can be expensed.
