The role covers design for a platform where people build and run AI agent workflows, from user research through to shipped interfaces. A strong candidate has about five years of product design at tech companies and can make complicated, technical flows feel simple. They also test with real users, measure results, and talk comfortably with engineers and researchers about trade-offs. Designing for AI that does not always behave the same way, while keeping people in control, is central.
How it fits the AI era
The work is about designing how people direct, watch and trust software agents, which has no settled playbook yet. AI can speed up prototyping, small code changes and research synthesis, so designers are expected to use it in their own process. Judgement about what is useful, what feels trustworthy and when a proven pattern is enough stays with the person.
How it builds AI experience
Someone in this role would work closely with the team building computer-use models that operate other software, and would see how agent behaviour shapes the interface. Designing workflow building and running tools for large organisations gives direct practice with reliability, transparency and user control. To prepare, build small prototypes in code, try agent tools, and show a case study on making an unpredictable system understandable.
