This is a first dedicated researcher role, so the person must set up the research practice itself: methods, tools, cadences and shared templates. The work spans interviews, usability and concept tests, and surveys, with findings turned into narratives that shape product and go to market decisions. A strong candidate has run mixed methods studies at speed, has shown research changing real decisions, and is comfortable working without a playbook.
How it fits the AI era
AI speeds up parts of the job such as synthesising interviews and widening coverage, and the posting expects research tools to be woven into daily practice. The human core stays: choosing which questions matter, judging what the evidence means, and saying uncomfortable things plainly to engineers, product managers and founders.
