France & Benelux Bureau Chief - Reuters

Reuters is seeking an experienced editor and newsroom leader with a strong track record of producing ambitious, exclusive and impactful journalism to serve as France & Benelux Bureau Chief.
Based in Paris, you will work with text, photo and video journalists across France, Belgium and the Netherlands to drive original reporting, distinctive storytelling and agenda-setting analysis on some of the biggest issues facing Europe. With the French Presidential election in April 2027, you will need to hit the ground running to deliver exclusive and enterprising journalism on French politics, economics and the broader social challenges facing the EU's second largest economy.
You will help us break news on EU regulation and how the bloc tries to counter the slowdown in its economic firepower compared with the US and China. You will also cover the fortunes of the EU as an institution, including the threat from ascendant far-right parties seeking to curb Brussels' power.
Reporting to the Europe Editor, the successful candidate will lead smart, deeply reported coverage of these issues and beyond; work closely with the bureau's Breaking and Daily News Editor on major news events and follow-up reporting; and help integrate news operations so journalists collaborate as one team and stories are published in the most compelling formats. Travel may be required to conduct fieldwork or cover major stories.
