The Director Project Management & Certification plays a key role in overseeing the projects developed and/or financed by Removall. Working at the interface between field partners, internal teams, carbon experts and certification standards, he/she is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects, their operational and financial performance, as well as the quality and robustness of their carbon certification.

This position combines team management, international project oversight, carbon expertise and strong field exposure, with direct responsibility for the performance and quality of the project portfolio.

Management and Development of Project Partner Relationships

  • Act as the main point of contact for project partners on ongoing projects, and manage and develop long-term partner relationships.

  • Oversee the support provided to partners in the operational implementation of projects, including the definition of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and reporting frameworks.

  • Monitor carbon certification processes and validate key deliverables throughout the different stages of certification: feasibility, PDD, validation, verification, monitoring, audits and interactions with certification standards.

  • Ensure compliance with project timelines and schedules, and manage performance risks, including delays and expected carbon credit volumes.

  • Coordinate audits carried out by independent external auditors and support local partners during verification audits.

  • Produce and regularly update project documentation, including project factsheets, activity and impact reports, and photo and video databases.

Project and Investment Monitoring

  • Coordinate project operations, including key activities and milestones, monitor progress and KPIs, and validate deliverables produced by implementation partners.

  • Implement internal project control procedures, including operational and financial audits.

  • Conduct field visits and audits on behalf of Removall.

  • Monitor project budgets and financial reporting.

  • Ensure contractual and administrative follow-up with project implementation partners.

  • Prepare and lead quarterly project review committees, as well as internal project monitoring meetings.

  • Manage the project monitoring team in France and internationally.

Management of Carbon Expertise throughout the project lifecycle

You will manage our carbon experts responsible for:

Carbon Project Assessment and Technical Feasibility

  • Conducting technical project assessments and carbon feasibility studies.

  • Developing robust carbon forecasts and assessing project-related carbon risks.

  • Conducting site visits and field missions as part of due diligence processes.

  • Presenting project carbon potential and associated risks to Investment Committees.

  • Reviewing key deliverables for projects undergoing certification, including Project Design Documents, Monitoring Reports and other technical documentation.

Carbon Expertise and Capacity Building

  • Providing technical expertise to internal teams on carbon certification matters, including the quantification of GHG emission reductions and the eligibility of project activities in accordance with methodologies approved by certification standards.

  • Providing technical support to project teams through training and the development of carbon assessment tools, including checklists, spreadsheets and other tools.

  • Monitoring developments in certification standards, methodologies and market practices.

  • Representing Removall from time to time in external working groups and conferences, and contributing to strengthening the company’s position as a recognised player supporting the structuring and development of carbon markets.

Management and Reporting

  • Manage the Project Management & Certification team (project managers and carbon experts)

  • Support the development and upskilling of team members.

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs), monitor them over time and report on the activity to the Executive Committee.

  • Report directly to the CEO.

You have at least 10 years of professional experience, ideally in roles related to environmental or development issues.You have significant experience in international project management within the environmental or development sector, for example with NGOs, international cooperation organisations, development finance institutions or international donors.You have strong field experience in developing countries, particularly in Africa an
