Datacenter People is recruiting a Senior HVAC Engineer for a French group that designs and builds data centres from start to finish. They deliver large mission-critical campuses in France and across Europe, and they’re building a strong in-house mechanical engineering team.
The role
You’ll be a senior technical voice in the HVAC team and work across the full project lifecycle, from concept design to commissioning. It’s a hands-on engineering role at lead level, inside a growing team.
What you’ll do
- Design and size HVAC systems, including chilled water plants, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units and ventilation
- Define the mechanical architecture against redundancy and resilience requirements
- Review and validate deliverables from external engineering consultants
- Manage thermal performance and airflow in data halls, and drive energy efficiency (PUE)
- Coordinate with the electrical and architectural teams, including in BIM/Revit
- Review contractor submissions and support site execution, commissioning and performance testing
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, Uptime Tier and industry best practice
What you’ll bring
- An engineering degree in Mechanical, Thermal or HVAC engineering
- Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, air handling and hydraulic networks
- Familiarity with Tier III / Tier IV design principles
- Experience working with consultants, contractors and OEMs
- Fluent French and professional English
