To support the site's development and strengthen our EHS culture, we are looking for an EHS Manager who will play a key role in anticipating risks, supporting transformation projects and embedding Environmental, Health & Safety considerations into our business decisions.
Reporting to the Secretary General, with a functional reporting line to the Regional Head of Safety EAME, you will define, drive and continuously strengthen the EHS strategy for the Clichy site.
As a strategic partner to site management and business leaders, you will ensure that EHS considerations are fully integrated into day-to-day operations as well as into the site's transformation, development and investment projects.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Define and implement the EHS strategy for the Clichy site, in line with Symrise's global EHS objectives and business priorities.
- Lead and develop the EHS team, setting priorities and ensuring the right level of expertise and resources.
- Identify, assess and prioritize key environmental, health and safety risks, and ensure that effective mitigation plans are implemented.
- Strengthen a proactive safety and prevention culture across laboratories, offices and support activities.
- Act as a trusted partner to management, providing clear recommendations on EHS risks, regulatory requirements and strategic decisions.
- Ensure EHS requirements are integrated from the earliest stages of transformation, real estate, laboratory and site development projects.
- Lead regulatory compliance and anticipate changes in French and European EHS regulations that may impact the site and its activities.
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with external authorities and stakeholders, including Labour Inspection, CRAMIF, Occupational Health Services and environmental/local authorities.
- Represent the site during regulatory inspections and audits and ensure appropriate follow-up actions.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure sustainable corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Monitor EHS performance, key indicators and reporting, driving continuous improvement across the site.
- Act as the key interface between the Clichy site and regional and global EHS functions.
You hold a university degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or a related field.
You bring at least 10 years of progressive EHS experience, ideally gained within an international organization and in complex environments combining industrial, laboratory or operational activities.
Beyond your technical expertise, we are looking for a leader able to combine strategic vision with strong operational pragmatism.
You will particularly stand out through:
- Solid expertise in EHS management, risk assessment and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience leading and developing EHS professionals.
- Strong exposure to transformation, growth or capital investment projects.
- Experience working with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
- Ability to anticipate risks and translate complex EHS topics into pragmatic business recommendations.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills within a matrix and international organization.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including interaction with senior management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience in change management and project governance.
- Fluency in both French and English.
This position offers the opportunity to take responsibility for EHS within a strategic Symrise site, working closely with local management as well as regional and global teams.
You will join an environment undergoing transformation, where EHS has a direct role to play in business continuity, site development, operational excellence and sustainable growth.
More than ensuring compliance, you will have the opportunity to shape the EHS roadmap of the Clichy site, influence key business decisions and further develop a strong, proactive safety culture.
