UNIVITY is looking for a Telecom Payload IVVQ engineer to join the team in our Toulouse office, and reports to the Payload manager.
As a Telecom Payload IVVQ engineer, you will be responsible for preparing and performing integration, verification, validation and qualification activities for our Flatsat and regenerative telecom payloads incorporating onboard processing (OBP), active antennas (AESA) and optical intersatellite links (OISLs), with support from the Payload, Satellite, System and AIT teams.
Your key responsibilities and tasks:
- Translate payload and system requirements into test procedures, acceptance criteria and verification evidence.
- Configure and operate RF and digital test benches, traffic generators and link emulators.
- Verify OBP hardware and software functionality and end-to-end performance, including throughput, latency, error rates, and reconfiguration.
- Support RF performance testing, including beamforming, calibration, EIRP, G/T, and signal quality (EVM).
- Test OBP–OISL interfaces and link establishment, loss and recovery with optical terminal.
- Support Payload EGSE definition and procurement for the constellation’s satellites AIT.
- Automate tests and data analysis, investigate anomalies, verify corrective actions and produce test reports.
- Contribute to satellite AIT campaigns.
Profile required
Skills and experience
- Minimum master’s level qualification in telecommunications, electronics, signal processing, embedded systems or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in telecom, RF or digital system testing, integration or development.
- Good understanding of digital communications and hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation or test benches.
- Programming skills for test automation and data analysis.
- Knowledge of OBP, active antennas (AESA), optical communications (OISL) or space verification processes would be an advantage; expertise in all areas is not required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English.
- Rigorous analytical approach, technical curiosity and attention to traceability and reproducibility.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
