About the work

Formalize material ranging from competition and textbook mathematics to research lemmas. Check both the formal proof and the correspondence between the formal statement and the original problem.

What you will do

  • Formalize material ranging from competition and textbook mathematics to research lemmas.
  • Check both the formal proof and the correspondence between the formal statement and the original problem.
  • Diagnose failed generated proofs and supply a defensible corrected proof.
  • Develop evaluation criteria for statement fidelity, proof quality and mathlib conventions.

Your background

  • Bring the expertise described for at least one of the tracks below; credentials and experience apply to that track.
  • Explain your reasoning clearly in writing and revise work in response to review.

Specialist tracks and compensation

$95 - $116/hr USD

The tracks below are alternatives. You do not need to qualify for every track.

Lean 4 and mathlib

Translate informal mathematical statements into faithful formal definitions and proofs; review model-generated proofs for correctness and whether they establish the intended result.

  • Demonstrated Lean 4 practice through mathlib contributions, formalized mathematics, libraries, tooling or autoformalization. Navigate mathlib, choose tactics and locate useful lemmas. Bring proof-based mathematics, logic or theoretical-CS training or a comparable research record. Explain proof structure precisely. Preferred: Coq/Rocq, Isabelle, Agda, Haskell, Lean metaprogramming, AI theorem proving or experience with miniF2F, ProofNet or PutnamBench.
  • At least 20 weekday hours/week; a plan up to 40 hours/week may be agreed.

Pay: $95 - $116/hr USD
