A well-established systematic trading firm, operating across multiple locations, is currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Engineering team in Paris. The opportunity involves building a global, scalable Data Lakehouse platform to support multiple trading desks across the organisation. Founded less than a decade ago, this firm is now at the forefront of technological innovation within the systematic buy-side and continues to expand rapidly by hiring talented technologists.
Responsibilities
- Design and Implement software and infrastructure solutions within a modern AWS cloud environment.
- Develop robust data pipelines in Python, leveraging leading data libraries and cloud SDKs.
- Apply data modeling principles across both Data Lake and OLAP architectures, handling large-scale, high-concurrency data access.
- Focus on performance optimisation of distributed Data Lake and OLAP systems, especially in cross-region setups.
- Ensure data quality and completeness across critical, high-availability data flows.
- Build and maintain bespoke data solutions tailored to the needs of quants and traders.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience with proven track record of delivering scalable data systems.
- Expertise in Python and SQL is essential; familiarity with C++ is beneficial.
- Interest or experience in cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
- Strong analytical and structured problem solving mindset.
- Comfortable working independently and proactively, yet equally effective within a collaborative team environment.
