About The Role.

As Buyer, Indirect Procurement, you are accountable for sourcing and commercial performance of Facilities Management and Operations Support categories across McCain's European manufacturing network. You are a key member of the regional Indirect Procurement team, working closely with Global and Regional Indirect Procurement, Category teams, regional category leadership, and site operations teams to implement sourcing strategies, identify savings opportunities, and deliver procurement projects.

Acting as a key link between global category strategies and local business requirements, you will help translate procurement priorities into actionable initiatives that deliver value across the organization.

You will negotiate and contract with suppliers, consolidate fragmented site-level spend to leverage McCain's scale, and drive supplier performance on service, cost, and safety. This is a hands‑on regional role requiring regular site visits and close collaboration with Operations, Finance, Environment, Health & Safety, and suppliers.

What You’ll Be Doing.

  • Lead sourcing activities for Facilities Management and indirect categories supporting manufacturing site operations across Great Britain and Europe.
  • Partner closely with plant and site teams across France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Poland to understand business requirements and review supplier performance against SLAs and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with Global Category teams to support the implementation of global sourcing strategies at regional and site level.
  • Act as a key liaison between global procurement teams and local stakeholders, ensuring alignment between category strategies and business needs.
  • Map spend, suppliers, and contracts across sites and countries.
  • Lead end‑to‑end sourcing projects including requirement definition, competitive bidding, supplier evaluation, negotiations, supplier selection, and contracting.
  • Consolidate volumes and standardize specifications where appropriate to maximize value and efficiency.
  • Challenge existing costs and supplier arrangements through benchmarking, service reviews, and commercial analysis.
  • Drive supplier performance and continuous improvement initiatives through structured reviews and performance management.
  • Track procurement performance, including savings delivery, working capital improvements, contract coverage, and supplier KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with McCain’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and CSR requirements throughout sourcing and supplier management activities.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant procurement experience.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, including spend analysis, benchmarking, supplier evaluation, and identification of savings opportunities.
  • Proven ability to manage tenders, negotiate with suppliers, and manage contracts.
  • Experience managing service suppliers through SLAs, KPIs, supplier reviews, and corrective action plans.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions and organizational levels.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and across regions and cultures.
  • Hands‑on, practical, and solution‑oriented approach.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across European sites and supplier locations.
  • Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken. French and/or Dutch would be an advantage.

About The Team.

You will be part of the Regional Indirect Procurement team and report to the Indirect Procurement Director. The role works closely with regional and global procurement colleagues, Global Category Managers, as well as Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, EHS, Finance, Legal, and site leadership teams across manufacturing locations throughout Europe.

As a key procurement partner, you will help connect global category strategies with local business requirements while supporting operational excellence and supplier performance across McCain’s manufacturing network.
