Freelance Opportunity - SAP Retail Functional Consultant

Location: Hybrid inMilan or Paris

Start Date: January 2027

Contract Duration: 12 months

Engagement: Freelance

We are looking for an experienced SAP Retail Functional Consultant to join a global retail transformation programme, supporting the evolution and deployment of SAP Retail solutions across international retail operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on SAP professional with strong retail process knowledge, experience in omnichannel environments and the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

Provide functional expertise across SAP Retail, SAP FMS and SAP CAR.
Analyse business requirements and translate them into functional specifications (FSDs).
Provide L3 functional support, investigating complex issues relating to order flows, deliveries, billing and stock availability.
Support enhancements, change requests and application maintenance activities.
Coordinate interface requirements with integration teams, including AIF/BTP, IDoc, OData, batch and real-time stock interfaces.
Prepare and execute functional and integration test scenarios.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.
Contribute to data migration, training and cutover activities.
Maintain functional documentation, business process documents, test cases and user guides.
Facilitate workshops and collaborate with international business stakeholders and technical teams.

SAP Retail Functional Scope

Experience across the following retail processes is highly desirable:

Store Receiving
Store-to-Store Transfers
Store-to-DC and Vendor Returns
Store Goods Movements
Order Management
Omnichannel Article and Stock Availability
Marketplace and e-Concession
Physical Inventory and Cycle Counting

Required Skills and Experience

Strong functional experience in SAP Retail.
Knowledge of SAP FMS and SAP CAR.
Solid understanding of retail back-office processes and store operations.
Experience with stock management, order management and omnichannel fulfilment.
Good understanding of SAP interfaces and integration flows.
Experience in functional specifications, testing and L3 support.
Ability to work with international stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Comfortable working in a global retail environment.
Freelance contract
12-month assignment
