Valtech delivers and operates business-critical digital platforms for large, complex e-commerce and omnichannel ecosystems, under high expectations of quality, performance and reliability. Within this context, quality execution must be predictable, automated where possible, and closely embedded in each squad's delivery rhythm. The Senior QA is the operational backbone of quality on the ground — translating the Head of Quality's vision and standards into concrete test strategy, coverage and outcomes at squad/program level leveraging AI as much as possible. The Senior QA ensures QA is never a bottleneck, never a silo, and always a trusted signal for release readiness.

You bring+8 years of experience, a growth mindset and a drive to make a lasting impac with day -to- day alignment to the Delivery/Squad Lead(s) of the programs supported .

You will thrive in this role if you are:

  • A curious problem solver who challenges the status quo
  • A collaborator who values teamwork and knowledge-sharing
  • Excited by the intersection of technology, creativity and data
  • Experienced in Agile methodologies and consulting (a plus)

Role Purpose

Own quality strategy and outcomes for several squads. Ensure releases are tested to agreed standards, automation coverage grows sustainably, and QA outcomes are clearly and proactively communicated to delivery and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the quality strategy (functional, regression, non-regression, integration, performance where relevant) for owned squads
  • Own the test plan and sign-off criteria for releases, in line with Head of Quality standards
  • Build, maintain and grow automated test coverage, in coordination with the transverse QA craft/community
  • Manage and prioritize the test backlog, defect triage and resolution tracking
  • Ensure test environments and datasets are fit for purpose, escalating reliability issues to the Head of Quality where transverse
  • Report QA status, risks and release readiness to delivery leads and business stakeholders with clear, actionable metrics
  • Mentor and coordinate QA engineers/testers within the squad(s); contribute to the transverse QA community animated by the Head of Quality
  • Support the adoption of AI-driven QA initiatives and automation tooling defined at Head of Quality level
  • Provide and support KPIs and indicators to show and help to put the teams in a continuous improvement process
  • Provide structured, conviction-led technology reporting and roadmaps to the client and Valtech leadership
  • Be a collaborative team coordinator, pragmatic under delivery pressure, and proactive in raising quality standards rather than waiting for issues to surface.

Your Profile

The Senior QA owns execution: quality strategy, coverage, release sign-off and day-to-day team coordination at squad/program level. Vision, cross-program standards, QA commitments at initiative/epic level, and business-facing QA accountability remain owned by the Head of Quality. The Senior QA is the primary escalation point from squad-level QA into the transverse craft model — QA silos are not acceptable, and the Senior QA is expected to actively engage with the wider QA community rather than operate in isolation.
