Platforms that impact our daily lives are now regulated, and they need people who understand both how the rules work and how Trust & Safety works in practice. That combination is what our clients come to us for.

We're hiring a Principal to lead client work in our advisory team and help drive its next phase of growth. You'll lead your own client engagements, guide the analysts who work on them, and actively participate in winning new work, in a team where your work shapes the practice, reporting to business line leadership.

What you'll work on

  • Lead a portfolio of client engagements, acting as the main day-to-day counterpart for senior client stakeholders such as Heads of Legal, Regulatory and Trust & Safety
  • Deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines and strong regulatory pressure, from systemic risk assessments and mitigation plans to compliance programmes, audit readiness and assurance.
  • Bring regulatory and Trust & Safety expertise to clients and the team across the a global portfolio of online safety laws, including DSA, the UK Online Safety Act and help shape how we approach new ones
  • Guide the day-to-day work of the analysts on your engagements, from task allocation and quality control to coaching, and contribute to their development and performance reviews
  • Actively participate in originating, scoping and closing business with existing or new clients, building a sustainable pipeline and growing existing relationships into new workstreams
  • Work with the leadership team on the advisory go-to-market strategy and help develop new business lines as the market evolves
  • Help raise Tremau's profile by speaking at conferences and events, contributing to industry and policy discussions, and writing for Tremau's thought leadership, in line with our positioning

This is a remote role, open to candidates based in Europe.

Profile required

What we're looking for

  • You've led successful high-value engagements on your own and can comfortably hold your ground with senior client stakeholders
  • A track record of delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines, with strong attention to detail
  • You've supervised junior colleagues, including remotely, and enjoy motivating and developing them
  • You've won client work, or you've persuaded and negotiated with external stakeholders such as industry, other authorities or international partners
  • You care about making the internet a safer place, and it shows in your work
  • You thrive in a fast-moving start-up: you think out of the box, take initiative, and enjoy building new things, from new ways of working to new business lines

Successful candidates will also have experience in at least two of the following three areas:

  • Consulting: you've led client engagements at a top-tier consulting or Big 4 firm, from scoping through to delivery
  • Audit and assurance: you've carried out or led audit or assurance work on regulatory compliance, and know what it takes for a compliance programme to stand up to independent audit
  • Content regulation compliance: you've worked in depth on regulation or policy, ideally online safety rules such as the UK Online Safety Act, whether in the public sector, in-house or elsewhere
