What the role covers
HKA is recruiting a Managing Consultant for its Quantum team in Paris, within the Claims, Consulting and Expert Services group. The post is hybrid, and the posting asks for fluency in both French and English. The consultant supports experts and senior consultants on quantum and commercial advice in construction and engineering disputes, arbitrations and litigation, in France, across EMEA and further afield.
The work involves reviewing project documents, contracts, financial records and cost data to identify the commercial and quantum issues, and analysing costs, damages, variations and entitlement in detail. The post holder helps prepare expert reports, submissions and supporting documents, runs defined workstreams to agreed deadlines and works with clients, legal teams, experts and project stakeholders.
Mentoring junior staff and supporting proposals and business development also form part of the role. Applicants need a degree in quantity surveying, commercial management, construction management, engineering or a related subject, and around five years or more in quantity surveying, commercial management, claims or disputes, or in construction consultancy.
The posting asks for experience of analysing project costs, variations, claims and contractual entitlement, and the ability to present difficult material clearly in speech and in writing. RICS or equivalent membership is listed as an advantage. No salary figure or closing date is published.
