Join Kalray’s disruptive AI team to develop autonomous AI solutions for end-to-end chip design, from initial requirements and architecture exploration to RTL generation, verification and physical implementation.
Our ambition is to rethink how chips are designed by building agentic systems capable of planning complex engineering activities, coordinating design tools and iterating on results with reliable validation. This approach should enable a new era of chip architectures, opening up design possibilities that are difficult to explore with conventional methods.
You will contribute directly to this effort by developing solutions that connect state-of-the-art LLMs, AI agents and semiconductor design tools. Your initial work will combine close collaboration with Kalray’s engineers, practical support for AI adoption and the development of working prototypes.
As you gain an understanding of our engineering practices and design constraints, your focus will shift towards increasingly ambitious autonomous workflows, turning early experiments into robust solutions that can support complete chip-design projects.
Responsibilities :
- Apply AI to practical tasks in our technical activities, build useful workflows and share effective approaches.
- Prototype agents that plan, use engineering tools, evaluate results and iterate towards a defined design objective.
- Explore workflows spanning architecture exploration, RTL generation, verification and implementation, in collaboration with chip-design experts.
- Connect models and agents to design tools through APIs, command-line interfaces and scripts.
- Evaluate autonomy, correctness, design quality and efficiency against existing engineering workflows.
- Build reproducible experiments with traceability, deterministic checks and appropriate engineer supervision, while protecting confidential data and intellectual property.
- Invent and test bold approaches to autonomous chip design, combining creativity with rigorous experimentation to unlock new chip architectures and deliver measurable engineering impact.
- Monitor existing EDA solutions and emerging trends in the use of AI agents for chip design, and assess their relevance to Kalray’s work.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Skills:
- Strong experience (minimum 6 months is an absolute requirement) in complex agentic workflows using state-of-the-art LLMs.
- Strong software engineering skills and experience building AI applications or automation.
Profile:
- Interest in semiconductor design and willingness to learn from domain experts.
- Experience with RTL, verification or EDA tools is a plus.
- Ability to turn an ambitious idea into a working prototype and
