Grenoble (Gières Campus) within the MatBio team (Multi-scale biobased materials). The LGP2 is a mixed research unit (UMR 5518) associating the CNRS and Grenoble INP, certified Quality Safety Environment. LGP2's research work focuses on operations for the converting and valorization of plant biomass such as the biorefinery and the development of biosourced materials (paper, cardboard, composites, films, non-wovens) as well as on printing processes for the functionalization
of surfaces for smart or communicative materials.
Objective
To oversee a research project funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) – Franco-Swiss programme – involving 10 industrial and academic partners. This Interreg project, known as WIBATTS, aims at manufacturing passive, battery-free RFID tags for the non-visual monitoring of the cold chain in the pharmaceutical and food sectors.
Main activities
- development of a thermosensitive polymer suited to the application and sensitive to changes in the cold chain
- project leadership, covering both the experimental aspect and project management (meetings with multiple external and internal partners, drafting reports and preparing interim presentations)
- functionalisation of the thermosensitive polymer to adapt it to the LCST
- formulation of thermosensitive polymer solutions or suspensions
- deposition of the polymer onto a surface or in the form of a multilayer coating on a suitable substrate
Requirements
Research Field Engineering Education Level PhD or equivalent
Skills/Qualifications
Skills
- solid knowledge of thermosensitive polymers
- good understanding of surface coating and multilayer deposition processes
- enjoyment of experimental and collaborative work
- excellent ability to work in both French and English, both orally and in writing
- knowledge of nanocellulose and printed electronics would be an advantage
